Nik's Thoughts on Aircraft
Thanks to passangers even though they might be safer and greener I doubt that any of these will happen as manufacturers will not risk money on a plane that they think people won't want to fly on.

Cockpit / Pilots in the tail -
More aerodynamic/greener/quieter as the nose would nolonger be such a hideous shape to get windscreen that don't even give that good a view to the Pilots. They'd finally have good all around vision (no waitting for passagers to tell them they switched off the wrong engine,or half a wings missing). Less chance of disruption to control cables (fibre-optics) due the being near to the rudder and elevators.

Why it's thought people won't fly on it
Passangers want to know the pilots will hit the mountain first!

No Passanger windows -
More aerodynamic/lighter(due to no glass/plastic and no reinforcings where the window would have been) thus greener and stronger, cheaper and faster to build.

Why it's thought people won't fly on it
The plane's a tin coffin? I expect they wouldn't get on an Train or Bus without windows either!

Flying Wing/Blended Wing -
More aerodynamic/lighter/quieter, thus greener and stronger, cheaper and faster to build, cheaper to run
If the Passangers are in the wing where's the fuel and under-carrage?

Why it's thought people won't fly on it
As before the plane's a tin coffin? No place for windows. Does the height of the Cabin reduce as you get further outboard, what will people think if the cabin flexs accross it's width?

Buy duty free at the end of the flight - no flamable heavy projects stored in overhead locker anymore

Why it's thought people won't fly on it
no answer, I think it's the Authorities

Rear facing Seats - in the event of a crash this would protect passengers backs, no more grab your ankles and kiss your a** goodbye.

Why it's thought people won't fly on it
All the odd's and sods plus bottles in the overhead lockers can smash you in the face at 100mph plus.

Being stripped naked put asleep and loaded in a clear tube.
No Hijackers, noisey kids you can pack'um in and they won't know. Plus as a safety feature each tube could have an automatic parachute, then if the plane get in trouble you could dump the tubes and save the passangers. And if they survive they'd be asleep so they wouldn't know until they didn't wake up.

Why it's thought people won't fly on it
Where do I start?
